![]() ![]() “The Earl of Gloucester approaches!” Cried a sentry on the west wall. Still, it may have been a mistake to teach one to talk. The legend says that as long as there are ravens at the Tower, England will stand strong. A thousand years ago, before George the 2 nd, idiot King of Merica, destroyed the world, there were ravens here. There have always been ravens at the White Tower. The yeoman grumbled and spit after the raven. I jumped onto the wall and bowed - at your fucking service, thank you. A ferryman looked up from his boat, saw us on the tower, and waved. The yeoman took a swipe at the bird with his spear and the great black bird swooped off the wall and went cawing out over the Thames. “I’m duty-bound foolish, yeoman.” said I. “Foolish teachin’ him to talk, if you ask me,” said the sentry. We have weird creatures in an infested Wood. ![]() ![]() For instance, the setting and character types were quite simple and easy to understand. The reason why I didn't rate it higher is because there were some aspects that I quite didn't grasp. People assume the worst as after 10 years this woman returns, however, changed. The citizens are protected by the famous Dragon, a very powerful but mysterious wizard, who demands being gifted a young woman in exchange for his services. She lives in a small town not so far from the feared Wood, an enchanted forest inhabited by monsters that keeps creeping along the land, infesting and terrorizing the people. This book tells the story of a young clumsy disheveled woman, who discovers that she is not so ordinary after all. However, once the story picked up again, I found myself more involved in the narrative. I only found that when the author started describing or narrating scenes not directly related to the main course of action, the pace slowed down considerably. We all have different tastes and expectations. Opinions and reviews are so subjective sometimes. I enjoyed the story, though I can't say I loved it. Therefore, it seemed it had become a must read. This is ridiculous because no one knows if it will get to that point, because we don't know if Steve pickrate will increase and/or Steve counterplay will advance. First, that "we should prevent it from getting to that point". I've seen two main counterarguments to this position. If you can play ICs and make GFs (losing to one of your horrible character's horrible MUs), then the meta is very far from degenerating. If you have to play Steve to win, then the meta is not healthy. And there is a clear competitive reason for it: other characters can't keep up with character getting banned. That's the point – similarly reached by Brawl MK – where it's clearly time to step in and consider changing something. As another user ( u/markysplice) points out, other FGCs have seen Top 8's with 7+ of the same character (such as with Tekken's Leroy and LabCoat21 in DBFZ). In practice, "overcentralization" means something like consistently 3+ Steves in major Top 8's. ![]() ![]() Steve is not even close to that level and arguments along other lines are either selfish and/or misguided TLDR: The reason to ban something in competitive settings is degenerate overcentralization. ![]() ![]() ![]() But, Drucker says, very few people actually know-let alone take advantage of-their unique strengths. It may seem obvious that people achieve results by doing what they are good at and by working in ways that fit their abilities. And we have to stay mentally alert and engaged during a 50-year working life, which means knowing how and when to change the work that we do. We have to place ourselves where we can make the greatest contribution to our organizations and communities. What does that mean? According to Peter Drucker, it means we have to learn to develop ourselves. ![]() Today, we must all learn to manage ourselves. Throughout history, people had little need to manage their careers-they were born into their station in life or, in the recent past, they relied on their companies to chart their career paths. ![]() |
